As its name suggest, the krafton® 500.40 FRP bridge decking plank is 500 mm wide. The overall bridge deck is quick to assemble since fewer planks are required for the entire span, avoiding long closures and reducing other logistical challenges.
Our FRP bridge decking planks can be mounted on support structures made of steel, wood, aluminium and FRP.
This krafton® FRP bridge decking plank is the strongest plank available in the market with DIBt approval (No. Z-10.9-655).
Moreover, the plank has been tested according to the Building Decree and NEN-EN 1991-2NB.

The krafton® 500.40 plank has an ECI value of €1.55 m1 which converts to €3.10 m2, for a service life of 100 years. In comparison with a bridge deck made of wood, this is 68.8% lower, were a wooden deck must be replaced every 20 years (based on the EPD product card Footbridge (wood), category 3). In comparison with a bridge deck made of steel walking grids, this is 87.3% lower, were the steel walking grid needs to be replaced every 50 years (based on the EPD product card Walking grid; steel, galvanized and coated, category 3).

When a span is chosen in combination with a deflection requirement that is below the relevant lines in the graph, the krafton® 500.40 meets the requirements set for a bridge decking plank in accordance with the Dutch Building Decree for use as a cycle and pedestrian bridge deck. Depending on the deflection requirement, the krafton® 500.40 can handle almost any span and the maximum bending stress will not be reached. In other words, like all planks, krafton® 500.40 can also effortlessly form an FRP bridge deck with the required FRP planks load.
