Cycle Bridge Renovation Lelystad with FRP Bridge Decking Plank 500.55

During the FRP Bridge Deck renovation of this cycle bridge in Lelystad, the ease of installation of the krafton® FRP Bridge Decking Planks was once again demonstrated. Indeed, due the important inland navigation of the Flevopolder, the cable-stayed bridge over the Lage Dwarsvaart is situated so high above the water as to render it impossible to install the FRP Bridge Decking Planks from below. Thanks in part to the modest weight and sophisticated assembly method, contractor Damsteegt Waterwerken managed install the FRP Bridge Decking Planks quickly and safely from above in the wooden girder. The Municipality of Lelystad municipality managed to release the renovated FRP cycle bridge as a bicycle connection across the Lage Dwarsvaart in a more than reasonable timeframe. With some 403 m2 of FRP Bridge deck planks, this is a renovation to be proud of.

The non-slip properties of FRP Bridge Decking ensure a safe crossing

The new FRP Bridge Decking Planks of the Woonhavenbrug were also manually coated in our factory by our specialists with a non-slip and wear-resistant surface. By carefully building up the non-slip and wear-resistant surface layer by layer, we can facilitate not only long-term use of the cycle bridge, but also a safe crossing. The FRP Bridge Deck across the Lage Dwarsvaart has a TÜV tested wear-resistant surface and meets the R12 and R13 evaluation groups of slip resistance and Class E of fire resistance. The Municipality of Lelystad composed the wear-resistant surface itself from our wide range of grain sizes and colours.
