Renovation Cycle Bridge and Pedestrian Bridge Bonanza Steg
The renovation of the Bonanza Steg pedestrian bridge in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, which is also used by cyclists, had become a matter of urgency. Indeed, owing to age and weather effects, the entire wooden structure mounted on the steel bridge was rotting and making the crossing unsafe. The Municipality asked krafton® to apply glass fibre-reinforced plastic to the structure between the existing steel girders. We then produced and assembled 120 m2 of 256.40 FRP Bridge Decking Planks on the existing structure of this cycle and pedestrian bridge. In this way, we contributed to a safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists for a minimum service life of 50 years.

Quick assembly during renovation of cycle bridges and pedestrian bridges
Since bridge structures and bridge decks are often composed of different materials, we have developed several innovative assembly methods. We offer an appropriate assembly method for every combination, depending on needs and requirements. For example, we have six unique methods for assembly on steel, as well as six unique mounting methods for assembly on wood. As a result, we can replace only the decaying section of bridge decking rather than the entire bridge, as demonstrated with the renovation of the cycle and pedestrian bridge in Germany.
