The wooden bridge construction of this cycle bridge in Berka Werra in Germany was at the end of its service life. Municipality of Werra-Suhl-Tal decided not to renovate the cycle bridge and had the wooden structure removed. A new construction of steel with a GRP Bridge deck for this cycle bridge was desired. As the concrete abutments were in good condition, they were reused for the new-build cycle bridge. At about 30m2, this is a relatively small new-build project, but very important.
